Senior Regional Recovery Officer

Randstad is searching for a skilled and accomplished Senior Regional Recovery Officers who possesses a keen eye for detail and excels in their field. This role requires the ability to build and sustain strong relationships. Our collaborative department is in need of an enthusiastic individual who embraces challenges and is committed to making a positive impact within emergency management for the state government sector.

About your new role

The Senior Regional Recovery Officers leads operational relief and recovery coordination planning both during and after major emergency events to help Victorian communities build back better. Operating in a "surge" capacity, you are responsible for leading regional and state-level priorities while ensuring that recovery efforts remain locally led and community-centered. This involves translating high-level strategies into specific projects, defining governance and success measures, and managing emerging risks for the government and the community

This position is located in the Hume region

What you will need to exceed

• You must possess a solid understanding of emergency management activities and the ability to work effectively with regional and local government authorities.
• You need demonstrated knowledge of relevant government legislation to ensure all recovery operations align with statutory responsibilities.
• Be able to engage stakeholders in planning processes, translate complex strategic directions into actionable team plans, and think at a "whole of system" level.
• You must be a "trusted relationship builder" with the capacity to forge strong connections across government agencies, councils, and diverse community groups.
• Familiarity with and experience in delivering trauma-informed relief and recovery practices is highly desirable for supporting community resilience.
• You must be able to communicate clearly and fluently, with the ability to handle sensitive, contentious, or difficult topics with credibility.
